WHATS THE DELIVERY TIMESCALE ON UK ORDERS?

UK DELIVERY OPTIONS - all timings estimates, not guaranteed but we do meet them 96% of the time! If you are ordering for a close shoot date we advise you have a plan B in case of printing or delivery delays. Thank you!

STANDARD for delivery in 3-5 business days (Monday to Friday)

EXPRESS for delivery in 2 business days (Monday to Friday) 

For your order to be processed today (Day 0) we must receive it by 3pm on a business day (Monday to Friday) otherwise the next business day will be your Day 0 and the lead times will follow from there.

For example,

Order at 10am Monday and choose EXPRESS delivery for estimated on Wednesday.

Order at 8pm Monday and choose EXPRESS delivery to get estimated delivery on Thursday.

EXPRESS shipments are tracked with DPD and you should be given a delivery time window - please ensure your mobile number is on the order to receive their updates.

Black Velvet Styling cannot be held responsible for any delays effecting the delivery of your order or any consequences caused by these delays.

INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

We ship our backdrops worldwide and select the best courier option based on your order’s size, weight and destination. If you’ve chosen Express delivery, we’ll prioritise speed where possible.

With STANDARD international delivery, orders arrive within 10–12 working days after the order date.

With EXPRESS international delivery, orders arrive within 5–8 working days after the order date.

We do meet these timings 96% of the time, but they are not always 100% guaranteed!

If you are ordering for a close shoot date, we advise you have a plan B in case of printing or delivery delays. Thank you!

Tax and import duties may be chargeable upon entry to your country and are the responsibility of the buyer.
Please ensure you are happy to pay any import fees before ordering.

If you refuse delivery for any reason, there will be a charge to return the parcel to our depot in the UK, and this will be deducted from any product refunds.

Outward shipping costs are not refunded on rejected deliveries.

CAN I COLLECT MY ORDER?

No, sorry we can't facilitate collections at the moment.

IS VAT OR OTHER TAXES APPLIED?

For UK customers VAT is included in our prices. It is not added to International orders; your prices should change when you enter your delivery address at checkout.

Customers outside of the UK may be charged duties and tax in your country when our goods pass through customs.

Please ensure you are happy to pay any local charges before ordering - if you refuse to pay them and the order is returned to us we can only refund the cost of the products less our outward and return shipping costs.

I NEED TO CHANGE MY ORDER!

Unfortunately, we're unable to make changes once an order is placed. If you have a change of mind or made a mistake while ordering, the order would need to be cancelled and placed again. Please do get in touch here as soon as you can.

BACKDROP INFO

CAN I CUSTOMISE BVS BACKDROP DESIGNS?

Custom colour backdrops can be ordered by selecting "WANT THIS DESIGN IN A DIFFERENT COLOUR?" from the drop down menu (above the product description).

Then add the CYMK colour reference you'd like in the notes box, or just drop me a quick email at hello@blackvelvetstyling.com. I'll adjust the existing artwork and email you a digital jpeg proof for approval (before sending it to print).

Also to note: If you're working from a Pantone colour, the printers will reproduce it with CYMK, so we can't guarantee an exact match.

HOW LONG DO CUSTOM BACKDROPS TAKE TO PRODUCE?

Artwork design and approval will add 1-2 days to usual delivery times:

STANDARD delivery in 3-5 business days (Monday to Friday)
EXPRESS
delivery in 2 business days (Monday to Friday)

WHAT ARE THE BACKDROP SIZES?

Our standard backdrop sizes are -

  • A1 - approx 84x60cm
  • A0  - approx 120x84cm
  • Extra Large - approx 150x101cm

We can't print larger than this.

If you'd like smaller or irregular sizes the backdrops are easy to cut down with scissors, a guillotine or a knife and cutting matt.

CAN I HANG THE BACKDROPS?

All of our backdrops can be hung from a horizontal arm or attached to foamboard and hel in place by our own sustainable backdrop stands - check them out here!

WHAT IS THE BACKDROP MATERIAL?

We print on two different materials.

Choose our waterproof vinyl for messy food styling and the highest durability or sustainable paper for a more affordable option for product and dry photography.

Both are matte with very little glare, white on the back and lightweight so easy to hang and transport.

Paper backdrops may need a bit of time (a few hours or overnight) to relax after being rolled to ship.

Our paper backdrops are by no means a lesser product – they offer a different solution at a more affordable price.  For our first two and a half years in business this is the only material we offered and there are over 160 five star google reviews for our paper backdrops to date.

If sustainability is important to you, if you want to explore different ideas and experiment with your backdrop collection, if you have a small budget or if you want to buy in props for clients and then get rid of them with a low environmental impact - paper backdrops are perfect!

Please note: the same design will look slightly different on the different materials – we have tried to show this in the product images.  If you need two or more backdrops the same we recommend buying them in the same material.

CARE + STORAGE

Please unroll your backdrops as soon as possible to help them flatten out.

Paper backdrops will have a slight curve to them after being rolled to ship which will need some time to relax. Lie them face down with a book or two on top to speed this up.

All backdrops should be wiped clean with a damp cloth only. Chemicals and abrasives could scratch and damage the print.

Please don’t put anything hot on your backdrops as this could mark them or make them ripple.

Strong-coloured food and drinks (turmeric, beetroot, coffee etc) could stain our backdrops; please use them with caution.

Store your backdrops completely dry, flat and away from direct sunlight in an ambient room.

HOW CAN I TRACK MY DELIVERY?

DPD deliveries are trackable via your account area by clicking on the order number then clicking the tracking number link which will take you to the shipment providers website. 

If your item appears to be lost please contact us and we will do our best to help. 

MY ORDER ARRIVED DAMAGED

We do our best to ensure everything arrives perfectly for you but if any part of your order arrives damaged or faulty please let us know straight away by email with photographs and we will arrange a replacement. Email us at hello@blackvelvetstyling.com

RETURNS + EXCHANGES

We accept returns on standard backdrops within 14 days of the delivery date. If you change your mind, just email us with your order number to arrange a return.

Returned items should be packaged carefully and must arrive in unused and original condition. Items that show signs of use - such as marks, stains, creasing, or colour wear - may not be eligible for a refund. Items that are returned damaged cannot be refunded unless the damage was reported at the time of delivery. If you're returning an item, please make every effort to securely repack it in the original tube or equivalent protective packaging. We can't refund items that arrive back to us damaged in transit, as we're not responsible for any damage that occurs during return delivery.

Once your return has been received we will notify you of the acceptance of the items.

Custom colour items are made to order and can't be returned unless they arrive damaged or faulty.

Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend getting proof of postage just in case.

Refunds are processed via the original payment method within 7 days. 

I've paid with Klarna - how do returns work?

If you still have outstanding instalments after the return, they will be automatically adjusted by Klarna to reflect your return.

In cases where you have no remaining instalments after the return, Klarna will cancel any future scheduled payments.

If a refund is due after acceptance of the return, Klarna will process the refund back to the credit or debit card that you used to pay your first instalment, usually within 10 working days.

These are Klarna's standard terms.
