We first featured Suki Pantal’s vibrant Indian cookbook photography when she launched her debut book Garnish with Garam Masala. Now she’s back with her second No Worries, Just Chicken Curries.
Packed with over 70 fuss-free recipes, it celebrates India’s most loved meat - chicken. We spoke to Suki about her flavourful journey creating this ultimate guide to chicken curry.
“The book is dedicated to my North Indian, Punjabi, chicken-loving family, who taught me that the only thing better than chicken is more chicken! For me, No Worries, Just Chicken Curries isn’t just a collection of recipes; it’s a labour of love that took two years to bring to life. A tribute to my roots and a celebration of the rich medley of Indian cuisine, my book highlights regional Indian flavours, and there’s a whole chapter of family recipes inspired by my mum’s and gran’s kitchens. Every dish is simple, comforting and full of flavour - bringing the taste of India straight to your home.”From her blog and online culinary school, Suki’s Curries and Spices, she went on to appear on The Great Cookbook Challenge with Jamie Oliver in 2022 - a pivotal moment.
No Worries, Just Chicken Curries has already featured in The Week, Stylist and The Sunday Times.

We’re thrilled that Suki chose to use our backdrops again in her food styling. She said: “I’m a big fan of vibrant food photography and Black Velvet Styling backdrops were instrumental in creating the colourful canvas for my books. Their rich, bright colours truly elevate each dish, allowing the food to pop and shine.”

“What I love most about BVS backdrops is the dynamic colour palette, which brings an energetic feel to my food photography. They add depth and character while keeping the authentic essence of the food, yet still introduce a modern touch - a perfect balance between tradition and contemporary style. One of my favourites is Safe, a brown mottled metal effect backdrop I’ve used many times to add rustic ambience.”
Suki edited her go-to backdrop, Safe, in Adobe Lightroom to create both light and dark effects.

From novice cooks to seasoned pros, there’s something for every curry fan in Suki’s treasure trove of chicken recipes. Here Suki used the Ruby backdrop for a bright pop of colour.
