The Autumn Edit
Here are my top picks for Autumn food and product styling.
Turn up the cosy!
As the weather turns cooler (its happened already in the UK!) I think we turn to texture more - seeking comfort in tactile, layered fabrics but also enjoying crunchy leaves and toffee apples; it seems to work both ways!
So I think our styling choices can take on a more textural and layered theme - maybe the lighting will go moodier and the shadows deeper as the days naturally get darker - and more texture in our props will help emphasise that with the peaks and troughs catching highlight and shade.
With denser, more bountiful Autumn styling our backdrops can get a little stronger too - perhaps they will take up a smaller part of the overall image due to layering but they can still bring pattern and detail where they do appear, adding to the feeling of plenty during the harvest season.
This doesn't necessarily mean going darker with your backdrops - but more patina and detail can look great underneath seasonal Autumn produce.
That's how I've selected these backdrops for you - with the mood and produce of the season in mind, thinking about the food stories and how we bring them to life through lighting and props.
I hope you find some inspiration here!
Most of these backdrops are also available in sustainable paper.
